Since their establishment in 1920, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has been at the forefront of creating civil liberties change in the United States. They have tackled a long list of issues including immigration, criminal justice, disability rights, free speech and women’s right. As the first state affiliate in the ACLU network, the ACLU of Massachusetts remains a nationwide leader in defense of civil rights and civil liberties.

Triverus Consulting places community enrichment as one their three core values and wanted to show support to ACLU of Massachusetts during one of their biggest fundraising events of the year. On Saturday, August 8 at 5:00 PM Triverus Consulting co-sponsored ACLU of Massachusetts in the virtual event “The Future We Dare to Create: Rally with Angela Davis.”

Legendary civil rights icon Angela Davis provided some guidance on what we should focus on to make the world more inclusive. “If we truly embrace a democratic future, we must take up the larger than the smaller issues,” she explained. Davis also covered how there has been widespread racism connected to the Black, Latinx and indigenous communities and because of racism, those communities have been impacted disproportionately during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Davis shared a powerful and hopeful message that even in the midst of crisis and periods of injustice, “we should not yearn for our previous lives. We should not assume that our goal is to return to normal. We want to move forward.” We feel confident that Triverus is committed to being part of the way forward and helping to address the larger issues and invite others to  supporting organizations like ACLU and speaking out against injustices is a step in the right direction.

Triverus is committed to being part of the way forward and helping to address the larger issues, and we invite others to support the ACLU’s work for achieving social justice for all.
